Become a Trustee at Speakers Trust

January 27, 2023

Thank you for your interest in applying for the role of Trustee.

We are looking for people who value the potential of all young people and understand the barriers to achieve success. Individuals will be passionate about how better communication skills can have an important role both for young people’s prospects and their ability to play a full role in society. They will want young people from all backgrounds to have their voice heard to shape the world around them.

We are looking to recruit up to 4 individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Digital training in an education setting
  • Fundraising for a charitable cause, particularly in the area of unrestricted funds.
  • Lived experience of educational programmes similar to those run by Speakers Trust, possibly as an alumnus of the Speak Out Programme.

As a charity benefitting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds we believe that our board would be more effective if it better represented its users. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from people aged 18-30, and those with an ethnic minority background or a disability.

Previous trustee or board experience is not required and new trustees will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing mentorship from a fellow trustee.

You can find more details here.

To apply for the role, please complete this short questionnaire and attach your CV. There is no need for a covering letter.

Applications close on 31st March at 5pm
