Hampshire, Dorset & Isle of Wight Speak Out Challenge 

The Southern Universities Network (SUN) is a collaborative partnership comprising universities, local authorities, colleges and schools in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

The SUN provides higher education activities to selected schools and colleges as part of the Uni Connect Programme.

We aim to provide up to 600 Year 10 students with training to boost their confidence, build their skill set and increase their self-esteem. During the academic year, a SUN school will receive a free, one-day, expert-led workshop in public speaking and communication skills.

So far in the academic year 2023-24, students’ confidence increased by 92%, based on measuring their levels of confidence before and after the workshop.
