We are delighted to announce that Speakers Trust has been awarded an Impact Level 4 this year by Skills Builder.
Skills Builder and Speakers trust have partnered to create a Speak Out Challenge Programme using the Skills Builder Essential Skills Framework, to further develop young people’s learning, confidence and life chances.
The Skills Builder Partnership is a global movement of employers, educators, and impact organisations working together to ensure that one day, everyone builds the essential skills to succeed. We have worked to embed these skills into our programme because essential skills unlock learning in the classroom, boosting academic outcomes, perseverance and self-belief.
As part of our Birmingham and Coventry Speak Out Challenge, young people practise and progress in the essential skills of Speaking, Listening, Creativity and Aiming High. We are proud to have been awarded an Impact Level 4 – the highest impact level awarded by Skills Builder – demonstrating that our programme allows young people to progress in all four of these essential skills.
And, we know it’s working! So far in the programme, we have seen a 12% increase in Aiming High and a 40% increase in confidence. At the end of the workshop, 95% of participants agree, or strongly agree that they have learnt skills they can apply in the next stage of their education, training or employment.
We are thrilled to be joining the Skills Builder Impact Directory here. Thanks to Skills Builder for helping us towards this exciting achievement, we look forward to many years of developing young people’s confidence and skills together.
